Friday, March 25, 2011 is the opening day of the well-known Greek artist Ioanna's Efthimiou solo exhibition. The exhibition
is to be held in the Solo Shared Gallery space within the context of the international "Art Expo New York 2011" in New
The "Art Expo New York" is a huge gathering of artists, along with the Armory Week Show, with the participation of 400
artists from all over the world, and attracts over 15000 visitors, since the month of March in New York is dedicated to fine
Ioanna Efthimiou is a significant artist of considerable repute, who has held over 20 solo exhibitions and is now aiming at
winning the public of the Big Apple with her works. Highlight in her career has been her recent exhibition in London that
was organized under the auspices of the Greek Embassy in UK, in honor of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II. The works
from this exhibition are now part of the Queen's and Prince Philip's, Duke of Edinburgh, private collection in Buckingham
Efthimiou, tends to depict familiar persons and faces that are widely known, sometimes showing awe and sometimes with a
humorous or even caustic attitude. In the up-coming "Art Expo New York 2011" she will be exhibiting both older works
including the series with the portraits of modern stars, like Madonna, and more recent ones, representing figures whose myth
and work have lasted through time due to their dynamism, charm and talent, like Audrey Hepburn and Coco Chanel.
The exhibition will be open until March 27.
